About us.

we Launched in 2019 with the GSMA's support, the KUHI Consortium in Rwanda aims to bring digital products and services to refugee camps and host communities. Comprising ALIGHT, World Vision, Viamo, UNCDF, and Inkomoko, with input from UNHCR and the GSMA, the Consortium believes that well-designed digital services, supported by skills programs, can positively impact vulnerable households. The group showcases individual efforts and explores leveraging collective expertise for the economic growth of both Rwandans and refugees, especially in an era when humanitarian aid is decreasing and the need for economic integration of displaced and local populations is increasing.

The KUHI Consortium is pleased to announce the launch of its Community of Practice (CoP) on digitization for refugees and host communities. The CoP will facilitate monthly online and quarterly face-to-face meetings to discuss digitization for economic integration in Rwanda. Focus areas include best practices in digitization for economic empowerment, raising awareness on digital financial services, mapping actors, identifying gaps that could be filled to better reach underserved communities, fostering collaboration amongst stakeholders, and inspiring innovation.
